Estimator

Construction EstimatorAs the Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for both public and private-sector projects. This includes reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, analyzing labor and material costs, and assembling complete bid packages. You'll collaborate closely with the project management team, maintain relationships with subcontractors, and contribute to preconstruction strategy, value engineering, and project budget development. Key Responsibilities: Review project plans, specifications, and RFPs to determine scope and requirements Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment Lead subcontractor solicitation, evaluation, and scope leveling Develop complete bid proposals and guarantee accuracy of pricing Assist with preconstruction planning, budgeting, and value-engineering ideas Participate in client presentations and support the handoff to project teams Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant3-7+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and building systems Proficiency with estimating software (Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, Sage, or similar) Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings Strong relationships with local subcontractors or willingness to build them Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team Experience estimating higher-education or public-sector projects in Pennsylvania.
