Under guidance from the Facilities Director and Manager, the Maintenance Technicians will complete routine servicing, building upgrades, and seasonal repairs. This position also performs minor plumbing and electrical duties.Essential Job Duties:Performs general maintenance duties such as replacing plumbing fixtures, appliance repairs, moving furniture, painting, general residential repairsPerforms general carpentry dutiesPerforms routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisorPerforms minor building and equipment repairsAccomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisorCover security shifts as neededAssists with snow removal efforts during winter monthsUtilize low speed vehicles (i.e. golf cart) to transport self, equipment and debris across the community grounds when neededOther DutiesOn call as assigned, including assisting with unfilled security shifts when required.Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned.Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Ability to work independently and with others.Qualifications:High school education (Diploma or GED) is requiredValid Driver License with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report is requiredFamiliarity with tablets, computers, and electronic work order systemTechnical Schooling in carpentry, construction and/or background (educational and/or professional) is preferredEmployment history involving 2+ years of facility maintenance, grounds, construction, or trade-work preferred in a Health Care or Retirement Community preferredPainting and sheetrock experience preferredAbility to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic is requiredOSHA 10 Certification preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:Moderate to heavy physical effort; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); work in area with high voltage electricity, hazardous equipment and moving parts; work on roof top and other high places; ability to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work; must be able to lift 80 pounds; must be able to walk, stand and stoop for an extended period of time (over 80% of the time); exposure to a variety of chemicals and dust daily.Please Note: Consideration for an interview requires your work history/resume be submitted with this application.All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
