This position operates with some supervision, participating in on-call rotation for emergency utility locates.REPORTS TOLocate SupervisorSUPERVISESMay lead, train, or participate in work team assignmentsEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Receive and interpret locate tickets.Connect locating equipment and identify utility paths, assisting senior technicians with more complex locates.Mark locations using paint and flags.Photograph completed work and update ticket management system.Operate vehicles and equipment safely.Driving duties include conveying materials, equipment, and staff to and from work sites.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to maintain a professional demeanorAbility to evaluate situations and adjust to changing prioritiesQualificationsBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office and mapping applications, such as Outlook and/or Google EarthCandidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)WORKING ENVIRONMENTMust be able to work overtime with and without notice.Must participate in on-call rotation.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
