Prime Staffing is seeking a travel Cytotechnologist for a travel job in Springfield, Illinois.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: CytotechnologistDiscipline: Allied Health ProfessionalStart Date: 06/15/2026Duration: 13 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 8 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelCytotechnologist (Cyto Tech) – 13 Weeks ContractLocation: 701 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62702Specialty: Laboratory – Cyto TechKey Responsibilities:Examine gynecological and non-gynecological specimens including ascitic fluid, gastric, esophageal, spinal, bronchial, and urine samples to identify abnormal or malignant cells.Perform cytology specimen preparation, staining, thin-prep processing, and assist with fine needle aspiration procedures including smear preparation and preliminary review.Maintain quality control, specimen labeling, documentation in Cerner, and collaborate with pathology teams to ensure accurate laboratory testing and reporting.Required Skills:Minimum 3 years of Cytotechnologist experience preferred (less may be considered) with outpatient laboratory setting.Experience with Pap testing, body fluid analysis, FNA support, cyto lab prep, QC/QA, and specimen identification.Active ASCP-CT certification and travel experience required.About Prime StaffingAt Prime Staffing, we understand the importance of finding the perfect fit for both our clients and candidates.
