International Arbitration Associate
My client is a global Am Law 100 firm and we are seeking a highly motivated junior to mid-level Litigation Associate to join their leading international litigation and arbitration practice in New York. The team advises multinational companies, financial institutions, and sovereign-related entities on complex, high-stakes cross-border disputes. Associates joining the group can expect to work on international commercial arbitrations, investor–state disputes, and litigation with significant international elements, often involving parallel proceedings across multiple jurisdictions and novel issues of international and public law.Responsibilities:Assist partners and senior associates on complex international litigation and arbitration mattersSupport cases involving cross-border commercial disputes, enforcement of arbitral awards and judgments, and treaty-based claimsConduct in-depth legal research on international law, arbitral rules, foreign law, and U.S. federal and state litigation issuesDraft memoranda, briefs, motions, and arbitration submissionsAssist with preparation for hearings, including witness and expert coordinationWork closely with clients, co-counsel, foreign counsel, and experts across jurisdictionsContribute to case strategy and procedural planning on sophisticated international mattersManage assigned workstreams efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative team environmentQualifications:Junior to mid-level associate (Classes of 2022–2024)J.D. from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentialsAdmitted to the NY barPrior big law firm litigation experience requiredStrong interest in international disputes; prior international arbitration experience preferred for more senior candidatesJudicial clerkship experience is a plusExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsBenefits:Competitive base salary range of $235,000 – $310,000, depending on experienceEligibility for a discretionary year-end bonusExposure to high-profile international disputes and complex cross-border mattersTraining and mentorship from leading practitioners in international arbitration and litigationLong-term professional development and career progression opportunitiesIf you are interested in this position, and you meet the requirements of the role, please click ‘apply now’ to forward an up-to-date copy of your resume.
