Job Type: Full-time, 40+ hours per week Compensation: $18-$30 Hourly, DOE. Competitive benefits after 60 days, company sponsored 401k with employer match, vacation time based on tenure plus six paid holidays per year.We are seeking a highly skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician (PM Tech) who will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs at our various plants throughout Southeast Louisiana. The PM Tech will service plant equipment, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues and work to ensure minimal downtime. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, excellent communication and a commitment to safety. At times the PM Tech will work independently and at times will work with other members of the maintenance or operations department.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ready mix plants and plant equipment including but not limited to, mixers conveyors and batching equipmentTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal plant operationsConduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtimeMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs made and parts usedEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activitiesCollaborate with Lead Preventative Maintenance Technician, Plant Manager, Operations Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasksAssist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessaryIdentify hazards and maintain clean and organized working areasRequirementsQualifications:3 years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the concrete or construction industryStrong mechanical, electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of ready mix plant operations and equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and schematicsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently with minimum oversight and ability to work as a teamStrong communication skillsAbility to work in various weather conditionsValid driver's licenseAbility to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends as neededFundamental knowledge or welding is a plusPhysical Requirements:Must wear all appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, masks, seat belt and steel toe boots) when performing safety sensitive duties or in certain areas of plant. If work requires driving in company vehicle or personal vehicle, seat belt must be worn while vehicle is in motionRequires working in extreme weather; temperatures sometimes above 90 degrees, sometimes cold, wet or damp conditionsRequires walking on terrain that may be uneven, muddy and slipperyExposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortableExposure to diesel exhaust, dust, and water mist or vapor.Variable lighting conditions, dependent upon available natural lightMust be able to lift and carry objects weighing 30 - 50 poundsWalk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, crouch/squatMust be able to read and understand equipment installation instructions, technical specifications and or architectural drawings and be able to follow steps to properly and safely install carious types of equipment used in the production of ready mix concrete.
