WelderLavonia - Lavonia, GA 30553Position SummaryPerforms all fabrication duties required to produce a quality product based on the shop drawings under direction of the Shop Manager.Position ResponsibilitiesReads and comprehends drawings, blueprints, and specificationsFabricates and manufactures metal parts for later assemblyProduces strong, clean weldsRead and comprehend measurementsTest output to ensure strength and tolerance of weldsChecks finished work to ensure it adheres to the drawingFollows strict safety standards and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Strives to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environmentFollow shop Manager's directions and expectations for each specific task assignedPerform all work in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulationsPerform other miscellaneous duties as required and assignedRequired CapabilitiesMust possess the physical strength and endurance to lift, carry, pull, push and place items and materials weighing up to 70 pounds repetitively throughout the working dayMust possess good balance and hand-eye coordinationMust be capable of being extremely detail orientedMust be able to bend, stoop, stand, turn, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach and grasp, often for extended periods of timeMust be capable of following directions and working with othersWilling to work overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessaryMust be able to understand and adhere to company safety protocolsMust be punctual and have reliable transportation to and from workMust pass pre-employment drug testing and background checkMust maintain ability to work in a drug-free environmentQualificationsMost of the work completed is in the shop; however, some travel to job sites may be required.Employee must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and OSHA regulations while at workEducation & ExperiencePrior experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required.Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures including MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and other fabrication tasks is required. TIG or stick welding experience is a plus.Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbolsCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsProfessional certifications are a plus
