Meat Processing & Packaging Assistant

Job Overview Bowman’s Butcher Shop is a USDA-inspected meat processing facility in Aberdeen, Maryland. We process locally raised beef, pork, lamb and goat. If you are interested in local agriculture, food production, or learning more about the meat and culinary industry, this is a great opportunity to learn and grow with our team. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our production team. This is a hands-on position that will assist in different areas of production based on the needs of the day. Responsibilities may include Packaging, vacuum sealing and labeling meat products Printing and applying labels to custom orders Assisting with ground meat production Assisting with sausage and other value-added production Assisting in the meat processing room as needed Maintaining required production logs Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas Assisting with other production duties as needed Qualifications Candidates must be dependable, able to work well as part of a team, comfortable working in a refrigerated environment, and able to lift 50 lbs. regularly. Previous meat processing or food production experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
