Paralegal
EvansDixon is currently seeking to add an experienced Paralegal to our expandingfast paced Omaha office. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for handling and maintaining cases from start to finish. You will provide legal support to the attorneys, organize and maintain case files, manage caseload requirements, and monitor timelines and billing. There is frequent client contactmedical record review and analysis. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.

What you'll do:
Organize and review new claim files received from insurance adjusters; upload and maintain documents in the case management system.
Prepare medical chronologies, Litigation Plans, and case budgets; update plans and exposure evaluations throughout the case.
Draft and file Answers for litigated matters; prepare, serve, and summarize discovery.
Review incoming discovery, identify missing information, and coordinate with adjusters to obtain required records or documentation.
Prepare timely discovery responses, including Requests for Admission, ensuring full compliance with statutory deadlines.
Communicate with opposing counsel regarding releases, medical provider information, and required documentation.
Request, track, and disclose medical records within mandated timeframes; update medical chronologies as new records are received.
Prepare expert correspondence and organize medical records for expert review.
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit identification, witness and exhibit lists, expert designations, exhibit marking, and scheduling court reporters or interpreters.
Draft settlement documents and mediation statements.
Maintain accurate case lists, spreadsheets, calendars, and deadlines to support efficient case progression and compliance
What we're looking for:
Three to five plus years of prior legal experience in litigation, insurance defense, and worker's compensation
Must be comfortable utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Have the ability to edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents
Knowledge of court procedures
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment
Must be well organized, detail-orientated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing work priorities
Ability to type accurately and efficiently from draft or dictation
Ability to work professionally and effectively with both internal and external clients on all levels
Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Three to five years of prior legal experience required
Experience in insurance defense, worker's compensation, and personal injury
