Job Description:Job SummaryThe Cardiothoracic Surgery team is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant with experience in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and surgical first assisting. This role supports a comprehensive adult cardiothoracic surgery program, including hybrid, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures.The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality cardiovascular surgical care.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform endoscopic vein harvesting for cardiothoracic surgical proceduresFirst assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive and robotic proceduresConduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessmentsParticipate in perioperative patient management and care coordinationCollaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionalsDocument patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical record systemsSupport quality and safety initiatives within the surgical programEngage in continued professional development and clinical skill advancementQualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant programExperience:Clinical experience appropriate to cardiothoracic surgery preferredLicensure/Certification:Current Physician Assistant (PA) license requiredDEA license requiredAHA BLS-HCP certification requiredAdvanced Life Support certification preferred and required if using a defibrillator in practiceOther Requirements:Meets credentialing requirementsEligible for malpractice insurance coverageAbility to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare providersStrong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teamsCommitment to ongoing professional developmentWorking Place:Roanoke, Virginia, United StatesCompany :
