Key Accountabilities:Assist in the servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling of engines, propulsion systems and their electronic systemsPerform all duties in a safe, respectful and organized manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and in accordance with RRS Code of ConductAnalyze technical dataPlan, prepare and request all parts and tools to perform job functionsAsses and plan scope of work to ensure deadlines are metMaintain a clean and safe work areaMaintain detailed records of daily activitiesWrite thorough, detailed reports at job completionMaintain mtu engine, vessel and equipment logsCommission and operate engines and propulsion systemsTrain/demonstrate maintenance, safe operation and shutdown of mtu equipment to customerInstrument propulsion systems and record test dataInspect parts to assure conformance to specificationWork with product groups on product design developmentProvide input for updates of service manuals and bulletinsProvide technical assistance to other service personnelRemain technically currentPerform special projects as neededBasic Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this timeTwo years in a mechanical trade school or Associate's Degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology; or two years of field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experienceAbility to travel 70-100% on short notice domestic and internationalAbility to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb rangePreferred Qualifications: Good knowledge of internal combustion engine operationGood knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controlsGood ability to use mechanical, electrical, measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systemsGood ability to operate machine shop equipment used for cleaning, testing or fabricating parts and equipmentGood knowledge of technical language and engineering terminologyWorking knowledge of the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oilsGood oral and written communication skillsMaintain proper factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skillsGood organizational and time management skillsProficient with PC and MS Office Suite2+ years hands-on mechanical or electrical experienceExperience with MTU engines and electronicsExperience in a large engine service industryExperience in testing of diesel engine componentsExperience in operating fork lift trucksExperience in rigging of weights up to 1 tonExperience in report and service letter writingRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
