Title: Test Engineering TechnicianJob Type: ContractContract Length: 6 monthsPay Range: $40 – $50/hrStart Date: ASAPLocation: Onsite - San Jose, CAAbout The OpportunityOur client, a leader in the data storage and electronics industry, is looking for a skilled Test Engineering Technician to join their team for a 6-month engagement. This project involves performing hands-on testing, debugging, and validation of electronic assemblies and subsystems within a lab environment. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running, troubleshoot failures, and deliver results quickly to ensure products meet rigorous performance and reliability standards.Key Responsibilities & DeliverablesThis role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:Testing and Validation: Execute complex test plans for electronic assemblies and subsystems in a lab environment.Troubleshooting: Debug failures down to the component level and document results clearly for engineering review.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with design and quality engineers to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.Technical Tooling: Operate and maintain a wide range of test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators.Hardware Support: Perform hands-on physical tasks such as soldering (including fine-pitch rework) and cable harnessing.Required Skills & Experience:We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:1–3+ years of experience in a similar test technician role.Strong proficiency in soldering (including fine-pitch rework) and cable harnessing.Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.Hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) to capture, analyze, and interpret electrical signals and data.Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise status updates and technical findings to the project team.Proven ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals in a fast-paced environment.W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
