You've managed relationships with various manufacturer, vendor, and supplier partners and know how to keep things running smoothly across multiple business functions. Your primary focus is to support and improve internal operations by troubleshooting issues (people, processes, and tools), driving efficiency, and ensuring that teams follow established processes; you get things back on track when they deviate. As the go-to troubleshooter, you resolve a wide range of business problems, making sure everything stays on course. Some topics will be semi-technical, such as managing or configuring ConnectWise products or troubleshooting vendor platforms. You’ve previously worked in an internal business manager or operations role where you developed an intimate knowledge of what it takes to support internal operations. You enjoy working directly with internal teams including sales, engineering, procurement, and finance to jointly overcome roadblocks and resolve issues to provide the best possible service for our customers. With strong business acumen and critical thinking skills, you excel at identifying and solving problems across multiple departments. In this role, you’ll be detail-oriented, catching mistakes and predicting future challenges. Your efforts in refining processes and resolving issues will directly contribute to our growth and ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients and colleagues alike. WHAT YOU DO: As Operations Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations in a fast-paced IT VAR/MSP, you collaborate with colleagues in support of our organization successfully serving a range of commercial clients, schools, and government agencies. You are responsible for fostering trust, establishing effective frameworks, and holding teams accountable. You ensure internal teams deliver optimal results for our customers and reduce our risk by leveraging your prior industry-related operational and business management experience. Monitoring and refining current processes in collaboration with department heads and the Director of Operations. Reviewing vendor partnership contracts, assessing their partnership business models, and collaborating with the operations lead for final decisions. Resolving miscellaneous operational issues, including ensuring employees work within standard processes, managing necessary exceptions, fixing mistakes and oversights, and getting things back on track. Handling monthly and quarterly contract reporting of sales under certain procurement contracts. Taking ownership of key operational issues, building or refining systems and processes to prevent future problems, and maintaining the efficiency of our internal workflows. Addressing vendor or customer related issues or serving as a liaison between teams and resources to ensure smooth operations. TO BE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL, YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING TRAITS: You are a strategic thinker with the tactical skills needed to resolve issues as they arise. You have the foresight to anticipate future problems and risks before they become critical. You are adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable thinking outside the box when solving complex issues. Your communication skills allow you to clearly convey critical information to colleagues and leadership, ensuring alignment across teams. You manage important workflows, solve operational challenges, and put proactive safeguards in place to prevent issues. You communicate with patience, tact, and clarity, even in high-pressure situations.
