Maintenance Manager
Position SummaryThe Maintenance Manager is fully responsible for the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team. This position directly reports to the Director of Operations and is a key member of the leadership team. This position will leverage diagnostic, engineering, and technical skills to maximize the production of plant machinery and equipment for the manufacturing facility. He will also interact with the production team to do basic preventive maintenance work and identify potential issues with equipment. Responsible for the site utilities & manufacturing equipment maintenance with the overall goal of improving productivity, food safety systems, and overall plant reliability while minimizing labor and overhead costs. Manage and collaborate on all local capital and insure the highest levels of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance project work.Required CompetenciesManage day-to-day operations of the maintenance team which includes but is not limited to technicians Supervise and evaluate the performance of production personnel: provide feedback, set goals, perform coaching or counseling, hold direct reports accountable, create development plans and record keeping of attendance points, paid time off, training, etc.Responsible for delivering on metrics such as MTTR, MTBF PM attainment, budget, spare parts inventory controlResolve issues throughout the equipment life cycle, and improve reliability through FMEA analysisNegotiate equipment and spare parts purchases to achieve the best possible termsCoordinate vendor services and setup vendor contractsEstablish and maintain contact with all equipment and spare parts suppliers and service companiesEstablish and maintain contact with all relevant authoritiesManaging plant capital projects in cooperation with the capital projects/engineering teamEvaluate and document operations, work area design, process flow, and work methods for improved efficiencyGenerate reports that track maintenance spending, Preventative Maintenance vs Reactive Maintenance, and Utilities Consumption and OptimizationEnsures team completes troubleshooting and repairs of machinery and buildingLead, Optimize, and the continuous development of the plant CMMS system in the effort of tracking maintenance work, automatically generating preventative maintenance requests, and ensuring the system works in compliance with Quality standards and plant proceduresDevelop, maintain, and implement departmental procedures in compliance with BRC standardsEnsure all staff, contractors and projects are working in a safe manner and environment and in compliance with all Safety procedures (LOTO, Hot work orders, Confined space entry)Operate all site utilities inefficiently and in compliance with local requirements. Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and consumption of all utilitiesUse MaintainX as the CMMS system for managing work orders, notifications, and driving forward progress through metricsDevelop a training program for technicians to improve their knowledge of plant equipment. Use OEM resources to set up lunch and learns + specific training from OEMs on troubleshootingMaintain a robust system of critical spare parts to ensure quick recovery during equipment breakdownsCollaborating Effectively: Thinking and acting as one team in a spirit of trust and respect. Employee must be flexible with these hours.While performing the duties of this job, the employee at times can be exposed to flour/sugar dust particles. The dust levels in the work environment can sometimes be elevated. If needed, proper PPE is provided.Noise levels in some plant locations are loud. The employee may spend 75% or more of their work hours on the plant floor.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, walk and lift throughout the shift.GMPs require hair nets, beard nets to be worn on production areas. Safety shoes will be provided along with any other specific required PPE.CompensationCompensation for this position is based on skills and experience, salary range from $100,000 – $125,000 and a 10% bonus target annually.
