This role focuses on designing, automating, and operating infrastructure across VMware-based private cloud and public cloud environments (AWS and Azure).You will partner closely with Architecture, Security, and Product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable platforms, with a strong emphasis on automation, standardization, and operational excellence.This is a hands-on engineering role in a multi-petabyte global environment, ideal for candidates who enjoy improving systems through automation and continuous improvement.What You’ll DoInfrastructure & Platform EngineeringDesign, implement, and support hybrid cloud environments across VMware, AWS, and AzureDeliver secure, highly available, and scalable infrastructure platforms aligned to application needsContribute to platform architecture, reliability, and lifecycle managementInfrastructure as Code & Automation (Core Focus)Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)Build and maintain reusable IaC modules, templates, and automation workflowsDevelop integrations using REST APIs for end-to-end orchestrationDrive reduction of manual operational tasks through automationCI/CD & Platform EnablementSupport and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform servicesEnable self-service infrastructure through standardized templates and automationPartner with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows and platform usabilityOperations, Reliability & ObservabilityImplement monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure high availability and proactive issue detectionSupport incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisParticipate in on-call rotationGovernance, Security & ComplianceEnsure platforms meet security, compliance, and operational standardsManage patching, backup, and disaster recovery processesCollaborate with Security and Architecture on platform design standardsDocumentation & Continuous ImprovementMaintain clear runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentationAnalyze existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for optimization and automationFollow ITIL processes for change and incident managementRequired Qualifications3–5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineeringHands-on experience with Infrastructure as CodeExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, VMware)Experience with Windows Server, Ubuntu Linux, Red Hat LinuxScripting experience in Python or Bash, PowerShellExperience supporting production infrastructure and troubleshooting complex issuesStrong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with Ansible Tower / Ansible AWXFamiliarity with Kubernetes and container-based workflowsExperience in hybrid cloud environments (VMware + public cloud)Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools and practicesExposure to ITSM tools (e.g., Jira Service Management)VMware Ecosystem (Nice to Have)vSphere, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)VMware Aria Automation / Orchestrator (vRA / vRO)Aria Operations (vROps) and lifecycle management toolingAutomation & Reporting (Nice to Have)Experience with Azure Automation (Runbooks / Hybrid Workers)Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI) or infrastructure reporting toolsCertifications (Optional)AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)Microsoft Azure Solutions ArchitectVMware VCP or related certificationsThe Compensation range for this role is $80,000 -$95,000 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
