Night Shift Tubing Operator

The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world.Under general supervision, the Tubing Operator loads, runs, and package finished goods on Tubing lines. The position reports to the leader on any work status updates.ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Reads and interprets production paperwork (e.g. Sales Orders, Production Notes Customer Specifications, and Set-Up Sheets)Loads material into a hopper.Sets up assigned machine for production using previously determined guidelines and specificationsSets up, maintains and performs change overs on Tubing lines by following customer specifications.Audits material consumption and loadingEnters all production data into PDE and QIS systemsInspects and prepares customer samples as required following product specificationsRe-processes byproduct into regrindConducts tooling changes or machine adjustmentsRecommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productSuggests changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency of plant, department, or work crewAttends shift and safety meetings when requiredAssists coworkers to meet organizational key performance indicatorsAcquires skills to operate lines in one production segmentPerforms duties of Utility, and Machine Operator when neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Education & Skillsets:Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, managers and customersAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex multiple step instructionsAbility to deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variablesAbility to multi-task and demonstrate strong time management skillsAbility to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondenceAbility to travel between facilitiesAbility to work overtime if required to meet business demandsAbility to use a computer; including but not limited to manufacturing softwareAbility to perform mathematical calculations, aided, including fractions and decimalsAbility to read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimalsPreferred Education & Skillsets:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Associates degree from a technical school1-3 years experience with dies and extrudersPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job the employee must:Be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsBe able to work independently with minimal supervision.Be able to push or pull heavy objects with mechanical assistanceBe able to work 12 hours shiftsPerform repetitive tasksRoutinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talkReach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spacesHave good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focusMeet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial TrucksPPE Requirements:Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including;Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)Safety GlassesBump CapsProtective Gloves; when performing certain tasksHearing Protection; when requiredOther personal protective equipment as required for certain tasksWork Environment:Air Temperatures can range from cold to hotAtmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odorsMay include mechanical, electrical, chemical hazardsWHAT WE OFFERAt Mativ, our benefits reflect how much we value and care for each other.
