Warehouse Assistant ManagerSurestaff is immediately hiring for a Warehouse Assistant Manager for a large distribution center located in Schiller Park, IL. The Warehouse Assistant Manager will supervise daily operations of the warehouse including receiving incoming shipments, sorting & transferring materials, and preparing shipments for outbound delivery. This role is hands-on and leadership-driven—you'll be responsible for keeping the warehouse running efficiently, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the team to get orders out the door the right way, every time. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All direct hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($45,000-$55,000/yr) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include M-F 7am-4pm.Responsibilities of the Warehouse Assistant Manager:Oversee multiple departments such as packaging teams and maintenance to ensure orders are picked and shipped accurately and on time.Manage receiving operations to ensure material is checked in and stocked efficientlyReview pulling reports and address accuracy issues as neededConduct and document monthly safety meetingsPrint and distribute order and shipping documents for warehouse processingPush completed orders through invoicing in the ERP systemCoordinate freight pickups and communicate with carriersInspect outgoing shipments and verify against documentationAssist with routing of local deliveriesOperate a forklift to pick, transport, and package materialsMaintain internal record-keeping systemsEnsure proper packaging procedures for safe transport of materialsProvide tracking updates to the sales teamResolve delivery and shipping issues as they ariseAssist with inventory management, cycle counts, and ERP reconciliationCross-train across all warehouse functions and drive process improvementsPreferred Qualifications of the Warehouse Assistant Manager:Previous warehouse and leadership experience requiredForklift experience is a plusClean driving record requiredWilling to travel to Houston, Texas, if necessaryStrong attendance, punctuality and reliabilityAbility to delegate, lead, and hold team members accountableComfortable in a fast-paced, high-accuracy environmentAt Surestaff, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
