Job DescriptionPrimary Purpose:The Program Officer for Educational Opportunities primary purpose is to oversee the TFEC scholarship program. This position carries a caseload of scholarships.Major Accountabilities:Oversee all scholarship-related program processes including: review, assess and prepares analyses and funding recommendations for scholarship applications. serve as team support to the scholarship committees inform scholarship grant recipients of their award maintain all appropriate files receive and process all tuition invoices and make payments monitor GPA’s as necessaryManage and implement all scholarship work served through management agreement services Manage and implement all scholarship work for corporate scholarship fundsAssist with scholarship committee governance oversight Engage scholarship fundholders to build relationships, share scholarship information and communicate relevant TFEC information Promote all scholarships as appropriate, working closely with all school counselors, colleges/universities/trade schools and other entities as required Monitor scholarship application process in SLMAttend meetings and presentations for scholarship related issues, as requiredMonitor the scholarship section of the website to ensure that it is up to date and kept currentAssist with the creation and implementation of TFEC’s multi-year strategic plan and annualized work plansAssist with TFEC’s marketing and communications needs as follows: Assist with articles and coordination of TFEC electronic newsletters, as needed Assist with implementation of social media and other technologies as needed including email blast system and press releases Assist in the implementation of the marketing and communications’ plan Assist with the coordination of special events and special mailings, as requested Assist with publications such as the annual report and others, as requiredSupport Finance team in account reconciliation by monitoring all student paymentsStay abreast of emerging trends in community foundations and other scholarship organizations about scholarship best practicesWork with student interns on special projectsRepresent TFEC on community advisory committees as appropriateOther duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum of bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s Degree or equivalent experience preferredKnowledge of nonprofit sector requiredGeneral knowledge of the community issues in the Central Pennsylvania area and the area TFEC serves generally about geographyExcellent time management skillsExcellent computer skills, experience with Access databases and Microsoft OfficeExperience in working with people, boards and committees in the communityAbility to work in fast paced environmentDetail orientedPublic speaking and community liaisonMulti-tasking (manage multiple projects and deadlines)Creativity and flexibilityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze, think criticallyCompany DescriptionOur MissionInspire giving by partnering with donors to achieve their charitable goals, and strengthen our local communities by investing in them now and for future generations.Our Values:InclusionWe believe that all voices are vital for our region’s future.
