Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for youth in a secure residential or correctional setting. The role involves assessing health needs, administering medical treatment, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of youth residents.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, evaluate, and respond to youth health concerns while providing appropriate nursing care and education. Perform health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document changes in health status. Administer prescribed medications and monitor youth for therapeutic effectiveness and potential adverse reactions. Collect, process, and manage laboratory specimens, including blood and urine samples. Conduct intake health screenings for newly admitted youth. Provide direct patient care and emergency medical treatment to youth, and emergency care to staff as needed. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure documentation complies with regulatory and organizational standards. Manage medical supplies and equipment by maintaining inventory and ensuring adequate stock levels. Administer immunizations and assist with annual Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing programs. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team and facility operations. QualificationsKnowledge of professional nursing practices, standards, and clinical procedures. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to observe, assess, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make sound clinical decisions independently while adhering to nursing regulations and standards of practice. Demonstrated professionalism in responding to medical concerns and inquiries. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including professional and non-professional staff. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Minimum RequirementsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of ***. Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience. Current CPR/BLS certification (if required by state or facility). Ability to work overnight shifts as scheduled. Preferred QualificationsPrevious nursing experience in a correctional, juvenile detention, behavioral health, or secure residential setting is preferred. Experience working with adolescent or vulnerable populations is a plus.
