Outside Sales Representative (Lincoln, NE)About UsCypress Engine Accessories, a rapidly growing Industrial Engine Instrumentation, Controls, and Accessories company, is seeking Sales Professionals to expand our presence in the power generation and municipal markets. This role will support our upcoming Lincoln, Nebraska office and focus on developing the broader Midwest U.S. territory.Position OverviewThis role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities within the power generation and natural gas compression industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong industrial sales background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-based environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain strong, positive relationships with existing customers within the assigned territory through consistent communication and responsive support.Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities within the Natural Gas Compression (Midstream) and Power Generation markets.Effectively demonstrate products and solutions to customers, highlighting value, application, and competitive advantages.Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations tailored to customer needs and operational requirements.Respond promptly and thoroughly to inbound sales leads, inquiries, and customer requests.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate quoting, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of sales activity using CRM tools.Track and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact to close.Travel extensively within the territory, often several hours per day.Develop and execute a territory sales plan to achieve revenue and margin targets.Promote and sell key product lines including generator sales, ignition systems, control panels, emissions solutions, and maintenance.Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, and service work (e.g., generator / engine overhauls, control panel upgrades, ignition conversions).Work closely with Service and Technical teams to scope projects, develop quotes, and support execution.Proactively engage existing customers to grow baseline (recurring) business in addition to project-based revenue.Analyze customer equipment and operations to recommend reliability and performance improvements.Coordinate with Inside Sales and Operations to ensure accurate order processing, delivery, and customer satisfaction.Support inventory planning by communicating customer demand trends and upcoming project needs.Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites.Ensure all customer interactions reflect company values, professionalism, and commitment to safety.Follow all company policies, including safety, driving, and customer site requirements.Provide regular reporting on sales activity, forecasts, and territory performance.Position RequirementsExperience:At least 2 Years of Relevant ExperienceFormer Sales Experience working in an Industrial Power Generation Market-1 Year Minimum.Skills and AbilitiesHighly self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve and exceed resultsProven ability to build, maintain, and grow long-term customer relationshipsStrong relationship-building skills supported by a demonstrated track record of successExceptional verbal communication and presentation skillsCollaborative team player with a strong work ethic and professional attitudeAbility to work effectively both independently and under directionWillingness and ability to travel frequently, including several hours of driving per dayCapable of traveling to, attending, and conducting customer meetings and sales presentationsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); CRM experience is a plusMust possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordJob Type: Full-timeSalary: Base salary starting at $70,000, with a performance-based commission program designed to reward growth, customer development, and results.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceCompensation package:Base Salary plus Bonus & Commission OpportunitiesSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekends as neededTravel requirement:Up to 75% travelExperience:B to B Outside Sales (Required)Industrial Sales: 2 years (Preferred)Power Generation: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver's License w/ Clean Driving Record (Required)Willingness to travel:75% (Required)
