Senior Backend Engineer

Tekton Labs is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to work on large-scale, distributed backend systems for a global video streaming platform serving millions of users. In this role, you will design and maintain scalable APIs, lead technical discussions, and contribute to cloud-native infrastructure.Design, build and maintain production-grade backend applications and APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)Lead architecture decisions and technical design discussions for scalable, distributed systemsImplement and optimize microservices, message queues, caching strategies and rate limitingContribute to feature development, SDK updates, code enhancement and refactoringWrite unit and integration tests following TDD and clean architecture principlesSet up and optimize CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics)Design and maintain cloud-native solutions using AWS, Google Cloud or AzureMentor engineers and conduct high-quality code reviewsTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsParticipate in customer discussions, requirements analysis and testing supportMaintain strong ownership and accountability over production systemsRequirements:Node.js with deep expertise in event loop, streams and performance tuning — 4+ yearsTypeScript with scalable project structure — 3+ yearsREST API and/or GraphQL API design and maintenance — 4+ yearsScalable distributed systems and microservices architecture — 3+ yearsEnglish C1 or above for daily written and verbal communication with international teams
