For more information about Celanese and our products please visit www.celanese.comThe Clear Lake Energy Leader performs various functions with primary focus on analyzing energy data and providing information that can help the organization with pricing decisions, assessing energy performance, distributing energy consumption to site partners, and measuring energy savings, with the goal of improving processes and performance at the Clear Lake Site.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with Unit, Technical, and Core teams to identify opportunities to improve energy and water productivity, conservation, and sustainability. Partner with Technology teams, Project teams, and site partners to scope, justify, and execute energy and water projects. The initial goal is a 30% energy reduction within the next 5 years.Collaborate with energy, water, and sustainability leaders at other sites to understand trends, identify opportunities and risks, and share best practices.Validate monthly productivity for energy and water conservation projects and other conservation measures for new and existing facilities. Assist in project scoping and justification to ensure energy and water savings are incorporated.Analyze energy and water performance data, using information from various sources, to support monthly accounting, including end-use identification, user allocation, energy and water cost, and utility bill reconciliation. Support energy and water buyers in regular and ad hoc site usage analysis to validate billing and pricing calculations.Accurately manage and track monthly site energy metrics (Energy Intensity, GHG Intensity) in accordance with SASB standards, and report site results as a member of the Global Energy Council.Our Process Engineer provides technical expertise and knowledge to the manufacturing process of the unit (raw materials, equipment, and processes) Implements new technologies, processes, and raw materialsProvide process support to Plant Engineering activities, usually involving preparation of major Projects Appropriation Requests or execution of detailed engineering of projectsWorks with support teams to monitor unit operations, correct problems and assist in improvementsLeads Process Safety Activities (PHA's, MOC's, etc.)Communicates and documents process engineering activities in unit support, design, plant engineering, environmental and process safety support activities with little or no review requiredProvides support to site through updates of Unit Technology Plan, Productivity Plan, and project pipelineDevelop and maintain plan to address gap from entitlement targets, most effective technology (MET), and best practicesLeverage improvements between different sites or industries to continuously improve the technology and the production processContinuously engage in the production facility to identify and remove barriers inhibiting flawless productionWork with Capital Project Manager on process discipline related project design and installationsB. S.
