About The PositionA strong spiritual life and a heart for God and His workLove the Saviour and the souls for whom He diedEnter energetically into the Lord’s workCan follow directionsExcels in time managementGood listener and communicatorCourteous, cheerful, and compassionateFlexible with hours and tasksTeachable and able to teach othersGifted in organization and attention to detailServe with kindnessEager to be helpfulExhibit passion about God's principles of good health‍What you will be doingOversee the preparation of healthy, tasty and nutritious food for the Lifestyle Center guests, trainees, and staff who eat in the Lifestyle Center dining hall.Meal planningOrdering of ingredients and suppliesEnsure the quality and safety of foodKeep the kitchen clean, organized and well stockedTrain and develop crew membersMonitor food waste and inventory levelsDirect in the preparation of daily meals for the Lifestyle Center, trainees, and staff (this includes hot meals and salad items)Maintain consistent cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen area and dining hallProvide proper storage for left-over itemsDirect food prep for following dayEnsure dining hall is clean after meal servicesEnsure timely disposal of trashDirect in monitoring inventory for food and supplies needed for all kitchen functionsDirect in proper storage of all food purchasedDirect in proper storage of all supplies orderedDirect in training work-study personnel as needed‍What you need Knowledge and experience preparing delicious and balanced plant-based meals Knowledge and experience preparing special diets (raw food, gluten free, soy free, etc.) Experience as a supervisor/manager Knowledge and experience in menu planning/ordering food and non-food items/storage Good with time management; good communication; courteous and compassionate; flexible; teachable and able to teach others; gifted in organization‍Special DemandsOccasional long hoursStanding for long periodsOccasional heavy liftingPotential hot temperatures in kitchenOccasional work on some Sundays‍
