The TPS Engineer is responsible for applying Toyota Production System (TPS) principles to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. This role leads continuous improvement initiatives, supports production teams, and ensures that TPS methodologies such as Just‐in‐Time (JIT), Kaizen, and Jidoka are effectively implemented across manufacturing processes within Toyoda Gosei Texas (TGTX) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTakes a lead role in delivering sustainable and low-energy design projects in the building environment, understands engineering needs in relation to reuse, remanufacture, recycle effects of carbon emissionsAble to create, understand and improve MIFC.Able to optimize process based on SWCT.Identify bottlenecks in current and new processes and provide effective solutions.Proficient in developing carts and packaging for WIP and finished goods parts.Working knowledge of methods used to calculate storage size requirementsDevelop and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow, space utilization, and efficiency.Experience implementing and working with Pull and Kanban systemsHorizontally deploys (Yokoten) TPS philosophy and tools to enable NAMCs to meet customer requirementsCollaborate with NAMCs to expand existing or launch new models & facilities, and integrate new product linesUtilize TPS to improve material flow to achieve target TAKT time & cycle time, and reduce lead timeCollaborate with NAMCs in observing manufacturing processes to isolate problems and develop countermeasuresUtilize TG standard problem-solving process (PDCA) to prioritize problems, perform root-cause analysis, determine potential solutions, and propose action to eliminate problems and improve KPIsDetermine parts/tools needed to implement existing processes and layouts into new/expanded facilitiesServe as a SME to support NAMC TPS development throughout the America'sCreate and maintain reporting and documentation on processes, procedures, and changesDrive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)This role requires the completion of other duties as assignedRequired Education, Experience, and SkillsCertifications and Education* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent years of experience is requiredExperience1 to 4 years of experience in Toyota Production Systems (TPS) or Manufacturing engineering are requiredPrior experience in Automotive or equivalent industry preferredExperience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is requiredPhysical Requirements* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
