Tasks And ResponsibilitiesSpecializes in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms.Prepares patients for the mammographic procedure.Explains procedures to the patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.Moves mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.Practices radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.Follows prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.Maintains production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures; developing mammograms; observing mammogram results; determining necessary adjustments for optimum results; retaking mammograms as required; forwarding completed studies to radiologist for interpretation.Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance; instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories.Performs all required QA testing required to comply with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.Processes routine paperwork and all required data entry.Prepares all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.Assists the Radiologist with QA/QC reporting.Performs all mammography tracking following MQSA guidelines and requirements.Maintains all QA documents necessary to exceed Annual FDA Inspection requirements.Coordinates all annual Inspections and documentation required by MQSA or ACR.Always maintains patient confidentiality.Other Radiology Duties Assigned by Supervisor/ManagerRequired SkillsPart Time HoursMaintain required State licenses and ARRT Mammographer Certification, health requirements, and operational requirements.Valid driver’s license in the applicable state and in good current standing at all times.Attend meetings as required.Technologist must care for their equipment in a professional manner. Upon malfunction of any equipment, the supervisor should be notified immediately.Train other technologists as required.Self-motivated, dependable, and work independently with little to no direct supervision.#MBX
