The Steel Superintendent, as a part of the field management team, travels extensively to various sites to function as the field manager and key Landmark representative. The Superintendent should be experienced in all aspects of steel plate construction, inspection, repair, alteration, and reconstruction for welded steel tanks and structures.
Essential Functions:
Direct the day to day work activities of steel construction personnel
Ensure project and organizational objectives are met safely, with a high standard of consistent quality, and profitability
Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to drawings, specifications, procedures, company standards and quality expectations
Ability to work at heights
Ability to routinely work away from home
Work to ensure that sufficient plans and preparation have been made to allow quality work to be completed in a safe and efficient manner
Communicate with Safety Coordinator, Quality Coordinator, and office coordination supervision to ensure high quality work is produced in a safe, efficient manner
Support company's strategic plan, goals and ideas communicating the core values of the Company through leadership and example
Ensure safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA guidelines are properly followed
Understanding of OSHA Part 1926
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel.
General Direction: receive very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 7 years of similar experience of progressive responsibility in a supervisory role in a construction capacity
Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards
Experience with discipline-specific industry standards (API, ASME, AWWA, NACE, ACI, etc.)
Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel
Knowledge and experience overseeing multiple jobs
Experience writing and documenting action plans, status reports and assessments
Knowledgeable in the following weld techniques: SMAW (flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions), GTAW, MCAW, FCAW gas shielded and self-shielded wire, Arc gouge (flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions), Oxy/acetylene or Oxy/propylene torch work
Travel:
Extensive overnight travel
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Valid Driver License
CPR and First Aid Certification - Preferred
NCCCO Crane Operator Certification Preferred
