Slot Performance Analyst (On-Site Only)
Slot Performance AnalystThe Slot Performance Analyst reports on findings and provides insight via data visualizations and stories derived from various sources related to project and initiative activities for the Slots Department. By exploring market trends, competitors, and players, the Performance Analyst helps foster a data-driven environment through the creation of models and analysis, driving revenue, profit, and rated slot play. This role coordinates with internal operations, external agencies, and slot vendors to collect and retrieve data required for research projects. Under the direction of the Manager, Slot Performance, the Performance Analyst creates and curates decision-based reporting by utilizing slot and player-related data. This role executes ad-hoc and recurring reports to inform on the efficacy of slot projects, to aid in the discovery of additional revenue-generating opportunities, and to quantify anticipated benefits for prioritization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the development of capital expenditure plans for slot products and components using ROI formats. Regularly monitors and reports on the cost of acquisition of slot products and components. Provides in-depth analytical reporting on slot financials on a recurring basis.
Applies knowledge of gaming machines, gaming systems, slot accounting systems, and slot performance systems to provide procedures, analysis, reports, and recommendations to Slot Management. Presents reports in meetings for staff and management.
Builds business intelligence, reports, and dashboards using a combination of software such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, SAS Enterprise Guide, and slot-specific analytics tools.
Provides current gaming information after careful vendor research of gaming components and systems of potential vendors and evaluates proposals. Conducts market research to determine leading industries, products, understand customer needs, and analyze competitors.
Generates reports that analyze customers, product, and project activities using charts, graphs, and explanatory text, and developed ROI formats.
Creates advanced predictive models to measure the expected effects of slot changes. Sets benchmarks for departmental goals/initiatives and measures efficacy via data reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Educational, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum two (2) years' experience in an analytical field required. Slot operations, including machine set-up, evaluation, and reporting, or equivalent financial analysis experience preferred.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Experience with data visualization, reporting & dashboarding tools, Power BI experience is preferred.
Experience with data tools and languages like SAS Enterprise Guide, Oracle Discoverer, Python, or SQL preferred.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with tight deadlines.
Requires the ability to think critically and independently, while at the same time the ability to know when to ask for help; requires excellent common sense.
Ability to self-manage projects based upon defined timelines and variable outcomes required.
Ability to complete projects that require long hours prepping presentation materials from not just content, but even a "making them dynamic" perspective.
Required Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions Environment
Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled casino and office setting.
Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
