Senior Oracle PL/SQL DeveloperCharlotte, NC18 Month W2 ContractHybrid 3 days onsite 2 days remote$60-$65/hourWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Developer to join our enterprise technology team. This is a senior-level, hands-on technical role requiring 8–15 years of experience designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale Oracle database solutions.The ideal candidate is a strong Oracle development expert—not an ETL developer with Oracle exposure—and possesses deep expertise in database architecture, PL/SQL development, SQL performance tuning, and enterprise application support. This role also requires technical leadership experience, working with distributed and offshore teams while mentoring developers and driving best practices.We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality, scalable database solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Oracle database solutions using Oracle 19c/21c.Develop and support complex PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL queries.Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning to optimize application and database performance.Design and implement scalable data models and database architectures supporting enterprise applications.Develop reusable database components and establish development standards and best practices.Collaborate with application developers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Support large-scale enterprise applications through development, enhancement, troubleshooting, and production support.Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level developers across Agile teams.Lead technical discussions and coordinate development efforts with offshore teams.Participate in solution design, story grooming, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.Read and analyze existing application code and infrastructure to understand current-state architecture before implementing enhancements.Contribute to CI/CD initiatives and modern DevOps practices for database deployments.Required Qualifications8–15 years of hands-on Oracle database development experience.Expert-level experience with Oracle Database 19c or higher.Strong experience developing:PL/SQL PackagesStored ProceduresFunctionsTriggersAnalytical FunctionsComplex SQLExtensive experience with SQL performance tuning and query optimization.Strong expertise in data modeling and database design.Proven experience implementing and supporting large-scale Oracle databases.Experience supporting enterprise-level applications in complex production environments.Strong understanding of relational database concepts; experience with object databases is a plus.Hands-on scripting experience for automation and operational support.Experience working with frontend development teams to support application integration.Experience using version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket.Experience working within Agile software development environments using JIRA.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsTechnical leadership experience leading or mentoring medium to large development teams.Experience coordinating work with offshore development teams.Experience designing technical solutions for enterprise-scale applications.Experience conducting code reviews and establishing development best practices.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment platforms such as:BitbucketArtifactoryHorizonSDM platformsFinancial services or banking industry experience is considered an asset.What We're Looking ForA motivated and collaborative technology professional who takes initiative and ownership.Someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.A strong communicator who can effectively partner with technical and business stakeholders.A mentor and technical leader who enjoys sharing knowledge and elevating team performance.An individual with a passion for continuous improvement, emerging technologies, and delivering high-quality enterprise solutions.
