Position Type:Support StaffDate Posted:4/22/2026Location:Emanuel County Board of Education(High-Needs School)Date Available:07/27/2026Parent Involvement SpecialistsPOSITION PURPOSE:Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist parents and otherprofessional staff in the parent resource center to enable parents/students to effectively useinstructional materials and equipment in the center, including support during extendedhours such as evenings and Saturdays to accommodate the Technology Bus/MobileClassroom schedule and school parent-teacher events.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Assist parents/students in locating reference and other instructional materials for thepurpose of facilitating the proper and efficient use of parent resource center books,materials, and equipment.• Assist in reinforcement in reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction,media, and other skills.• Assist in maintaining the circulation desk operations and circulation files.• Work with families to provide assistance to reinforce basic learning.• Operate audio-visual equipment as needed.• Assist in cataloging and filing learning materials.• Construct, copy, distribute, and use educational materials.• Support parent and student engagement activities during non-traditional hours (eveningsand Saturdays), including events connected to the Technology Bus/Mobile Classroom andschool-based parent-teacher nights.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:• Perform any other related duties as assigned.• Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Typical qualifications may be equivalent to:• High School diploma or equivalent.• Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of paraprofessional GACEassessment.• Prior experience working with parents/students is desirable.• Experience with basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Canva, email) is preferred.PERFORMANCE FACTORS:Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds offorce frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Interaction with Others: Ability to maintain, on a regular and consistent basis, relationshipsthat are characterized by high expectations, teamwork, and collaboration.
