Senior Component Engineer

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Component Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid). The Senior Component Engineer is responsible for standardizing, selecting, validating, and managing components, ensuring they meet quality, cost, regulatory, and availability requirements.Accountabilities:Develop, maintain, and unify standardized component requirements and material specifications across global products and projects to ensure consistency and qualityProactively mitigate supply chain risks by monitoring obsolescence, shortages, and identifying suitable alternativesAnalyze technical specifications, interpret test results, select and qualify components by component and/or product technical specificationsProvide technical guidance and support to supply chain, project and manufacturing teamsProvide technical expertise by identifying, assessing, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure consistency and qualityManage documentation, including datasheets, end-of-life notices, and change historiesEnsure components meet applicable internal and external regulations and quality standardsInvestigate component issues, perform failure analysis, and establish corrective actionsWork closely with design engineers to select parts that meet performance requirements, while considering availability, cost and compliance, helping prevent delays, and costly redesignProvide mentorship to other Component EngineersAdhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policies Must have the ability to:Read and interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and schematicsAdhere to core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and compliance with internal and external regulatory requirementsPrepare detailed engineering reports and documentationManage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlinesUnderstand team metrics, factors affecting and ideas to improveUnderstand processes and provide ideas for improvementQuickly learn and adapt to new engineering design tools and technologiesWork both independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team member across various cultures and geographiesLift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg) Required skills/experience:Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline with minimum 10 years of relevant experience or a 2-year degree in Electronics with minimum 15 years of relevant experience or equivalent education with minimum 15 years of relevant experienceIn-depth knowledge of electrical, electronics, electromechanical and mechanical parts, including component selection, evaluation, testing, and material specificationDemonstrated understanding of form, fit, function equivalency for multiple-source components and application acceptabilityGreat attention to detail as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsf you meet the requirements, you can apply directly or send your updated resume to sohrab.ali@techaxisinc.com
