Project Coordinator/Sales Support Converting - PORTLAND, OR
Summary:
Contribute to the Converting Division in Portland by providing outstanding customer service and project management through daily interaction with customers, estimating, order entry, and sales support.
Essential Functions:
Accept and process customer telephone, e-mail, or walk-in orders while providing exceptional customer service to meet sales support objectives
Work with Account Managers and Customers to facilitate price quotes, project timelines, and overall sales support
Assist customers with problems, delivery times, lost orders, returns, price adjustments, etc.; answer customer product inquiries (i.e., availability, suitability, substitutions, sustainability, sizes, etc.)
Track backorders and future orders for customers and Account Managers to assist in timely customer receipt of product
Communicate customer-related information, opportunities, and problems to Account Managers to facilitate information flow
Source new / custom items as well as research options, information and obtain quotes from suppliers to seek product solutions
Create and maintain acronyms, vendor files and vendor cost changes
Place and follow up on supplier purchase orders to ensure product availability
Promptly research and process mill claims
Responsible for the timely processing of defective and returned merchandise
May manage key accounts and/or primary vendors to maximize inventory investment and turns goals
Other Functions:
Prepare customer specific order guides on request
Process inquiries from Account Managers to support sales and service requirements
Oversee assigned customers stock levels and order entry
Perform other functions as necessary
Qualifications:
Three years of customer service or industry-related experience
Bachelor's or associate's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and current versions of Microsoft Office
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highest level of professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality.
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives
Customer service oriented, with the ability to work well under pressure
Strong aptitude for math, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented, well organized with ability to prioritize, coordinate, and simultaneously maintain multiple projects
Approachable, flexible, adaptable to change
Working Conditions:
Professional office environment
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, regularly lift 10-25 lbs.
Frequent use of basic office equipment (i.e., computer, copier, etc.)
Heavy telephone and email contact with customers
Occasional overtime as needed
