Line Of Product Leader
Position SummaryResponsible for providing accountable leadership to a Line of Product Team (LOP), Manufacturing Engineer, Materials Coordinator, and direct workforce, ensuring organizational effectiveness by way of continuous improvement activitiesEssential Functions and Basic Duties• Drive continuous improvement activities throughout the line of product with cross functional departments in order to achieve our annual strategic goals in support of our long-term strategy this includes hiring, coaching, and managing employees.• Coach and mentor team members on a regular basis, deliver status of strategic goals and provide individual feedback.• Manage Line of Product performance aligning with financial expectations and strategic goals.• Display a clear understanding of the company work rules, administration and Company Policies while stepping into dialogue when necessary.• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.• Ensure inventory levels and controls are in place for the line of product to meet customer and company demands.• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.• Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.• Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.• Direct or coordinate production, processing, distribution, or marketing activities of industrial organizations.• Hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff or resolve personnel grievances.• Communicate and implement safety policies and standards ensuring.• Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.• Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records.• Review plans and confer with research or support staff to develop new products or processes.• Develop budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.• Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, or statistical studies.• Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.• Conduct site audits to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.• Develop or enforce procedures for normal operation of manufacturing systems.• Implement operational and emergency procedures.• Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with safety and environmental laws, regulations, or policies.• On the shop floor, with the team 90% of time• Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned.Education/Certification• Bachelor’s degree, Business or Engineering preferred.Experience Required• 5+ years’ experience in operations and 3 years of previous leadership experience in a similar manufacturing environment.• Hands on utilization of lean tools such as standard work, value stream mapping, 5s, Kanban, practical problem solving.• Engaging and inviting leadership style for development of a highly motivated and effective team.• Possesses strong coaching and training skills for use in improving the capabilities and performance of team members.• Proven problem-solving skills. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Seeking input from others when making decisions.• Business Acumen. Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position• Desk located in the Manufacturing environment and the ability to be on your feet 85% on the time• Manufacturing environment - temperature controlled.• May be exposed to diesel fuel, mineral spirits, glue, paint, adhesives, and sealant fumes.• Lifting requirements – occasionally lifting of 35 pounds• Ability to maneuver in, around, under, and about factory machinery on a regular basis.• Travel less than 5%NO RELOCATION
