Our everyday mission is to educate students in short-term and professional programs for gainful employment and career advancement.Careers Site: https://www.success.edu/careers-with-sec/AM or PM 2 days weekPOSITION SUMMARYThe Adjunct VN NCLEX-PN Review Instructor provides focused review and remediation instruction to Vocational Nursing students and graduates preparing for the NCLEX-VN licensure examination. This role supports student success by reinforcing core nursing concepts, test-taking strategies, clinical judgment, and NCLEX-style question analysis in alignment with current NCLEX-PN test plans and program outcomes. The instructor reports to the Director or Dean of Nursing.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDeliver NCLEX-PN review instruction aligned with the current NCSBN NCLEX-PN Test Plan.Prepare and facilitate structured review sessions covering core VN content areas, including medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, maternal-child, pediatrics, mental health, leadership, and safety.Teach effective test-taking strategies, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills for NCLEX-style questions.Analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps and provide targeted remediation.Utilize NCLEX-style questions, case studies, practice exams, and computerized testing platforms.Provide individualized or small-group academic support as needed.Collaborate with VN faculty and nursing leadership to support program retention and licensure pass-rate goals.Maintain accurate instructional and student progress records in accordance with institutional policies.Uphold academic integrity, confidentiality, and all program, institutional, and regulatory requirements.Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development as required.Maintain compliance with state Board of Vocational Nursing (BVNPT or applicable board) standards.QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSStrong knowledge of Vocational Nursing scope of practice and NCLEX-PN content areas.Expertise in NCLEX-style question development and remediation strategies.Ability to explain complex nursing concepts in a clear, supportive manner.Strong instructional, facilitation, and coaching skills.Proficiency with computerized testing platforms and learning management systems (LMS).Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, including adult learners.Experience teaching in a Vocational Nursing (VN/LVN) program.Experience providing NCLEX-PN review, remediation, or test-prep instruction.Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher.Familiarity with Board of Nursing or BVNPT regulatory requirements.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECurrent, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of instruction.Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical nursing experience.Prior experience teaching or tutoring nursing students preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of the NCLEX-PN examination and test preparation methodologies.
