This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems, and supporting commercial technology installations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable pulling cable, terminating connections, installing devices, troubleshooting systems, and interacting professionally with clients onsite.ResponsibilitiesLow Voltage & CablingPull, route, and secure low voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, speaker wire, and coaxInstall and terminate keystone jacks, patch panels, RJ45 connectors, and wall platesTest and troubleshoot structured cabling installationsLabel and document cable runs and equipmentAccess Control & SecurityInstall and troubleshoot badge access systems, card readers, door strikes, mag locks, and request-to-exit devicesAssist with security camera installations and basic configurationMount and connect low voltage devices according to industry standardsAudio / Visual (AV)Install TVs, conference room equipment, speakers, amplifiers, and AV control devicesRun and terminate speaker wire and HDMI/extender systemsAssist with conference room and digital signage deploymentsIT SupportProvide basic desktop and network troubleshootingInstall and configure workstations, printers, monitors, and peripheralsTroubleshoot connectivity issues involving switches, Wi-Fi access points, and end-user devicesSupport Microsoft 365 and general end-user technology issues when neededGeneral Field WorkMaintain a professional appearance and communication with clientsAccurately document work completed onsiteFollow safety procedures and company standardsWork independently or with a project lead to complete installations on scheduleJob RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience in low voltage installation (structured cabling, AV, access control, or similar trade).Working knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC Article 725).Ability to read and interpret construction documents, wiring diagrams, and equipment spec sheets.Proficient with hand and power tools commonly used in low voltage work (drill, fish tape, cable tester, punch-down tool, crimpers).Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple job sites simultaneously.Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required; travel to job sites is a regular part of this role. Mileage reimbursement provided per company policy.Willingness to learn and assist with IT support functions including basic networking, device setup, and troubleshooting.Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, clients, and general contractors on site.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and customer service skills.Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.QualificationsExperience pulling and terminating low voltage cablingKnowledge of structured cabling standards and best practicesExperience with badge access systems and security device installationFamiliarity with AV installations and TV mountingBasic understanding of networking and IT troubleshootingAbility to use cable testers, toner tools, drills, ladders, and hand toolsStrong problem-solving and customer service skillsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationPreferred QualificationsExperience with access control platforms such as Verkada, HID Global, or similar systemsExperience with wireless access points and network switchesOSHA, lift, or low voltage certificationsExperience working in commercial environments
