If you’re interested in joining an established and growing company with opportunities for career advancement, we encourage you to apply and grow with us!The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a quarry environment to support the safe and efficient extraction, movement, and processing of materials. This role requires adherence to safety procedures, proper equipment maintenance, and effective communication with supervisors and other team members to maintain production goals.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and other quarry-related machinery in a safe and efficient manner.Load and transport raw materials including rock, gravel, sand, and other aggregates throughout the quarry site.Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections including checking oil, fuel, fluids, tires, lights, and safety devices.Report equipment malfunctions, mechanical issues, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.Assist with stockpiling, material handling, and feeding crushers, screens, and other processing equipment.Maintain proper production flow by coordinating with supervisors, plant operators, and other equipment operators.Follow established quarry safety procedures, MSHA regulations, and company policies at all times.Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.Assist with basic maintenance and fueling of equipment as needed.Support other quarry operations as directed by supervisors.QualificationsPrevious experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry, mining, construction, or similar environment preferred.Ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment.Knowledge of equipment safety practices and operational procedures.Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to follow all safety procedures and company policies.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.Ability to work outdoors in dusty, noisy, and uneven terrain environments.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an outdoor quarry environment with exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions.Must follow all safety and environmental regulations including MSHA standards.Additional RequirementsValid driver’s license preferred.MSHA certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.Why You Should Work For Wiregrass ConstructionAt Wiregrass Construction, we know our employees are our success, and we provide opportunities that allow them to grow and build meaningful careers.
