This position sits at the intersection of process improvement and quality assurance — a rare hybrid role where your work directly shapes the safety, consistency, and performance of the products we make.You'll lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage formulation programs, drive SQF compliance, and serve as a key technical resource across the plant floor. If you're energized by solving complex manufacturing problems, building data-driven solutions, and collaborating with teams across R&D, QC, and operations — this role was built for you.What You'll Do Continuous Improvement Lead and support metric-driven improvement initiatives in yield, process capability, and system performance. Plan and execute large-scale manufacturing trials; partner with processing and packaging operators to manage trial demands and publish post-trial recaps. Validate unit operation performance and measure process change responses to ensure product stream integrity. Collect in-process and finished product samples to support process improvements, validations, and studies. Support preparation and readiness for internal, state, third-party, and Safe Quality Food (SQF) audits and inspections. Conduct monthly refresher trainings for plant personnel as needed. Products & Formulation Document and publish formulation changes for applicable product lines and in-process streams. Publish supporting compositional and textural target range and specification data. Calculate and communicate expected nutritional declaration shifts tied to formulation or raw material changes. Collaborate with R&D, QC, and Technical Services in formulation studies and reviews. Maintain and continuously enhance product formulation programs. Technical Support & Quality Back up and support the Quality Manager on finished product and component quality responsibilities. Write new SOPs and update existing procedures within the SQF documentation system. Design and execute benchtop trials to solve manufacturing, quality, and process unknowns. Mine data from LIMS and production logs to identify correlations, trends, and process irregularities. Manage vendor concerns and complaints; prepare and publish supplier scorecards. Serve as a liaison for product gradings; deliver performance feedback to plant teams, Technical Services, and R&D. Assist with the Pest Control management program. Maintain the document register to ensure accuracy and currency of information. Publish technical reports to highlight findings and raise awareness across plant personnel.Qualifications What We're Looking For B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Microbiology or related scientific degree. 2+ years of industry experience in food and beverage manufacturing. Formal training in GLP, GMP, and HACCP. Six Sigma or other process capability certification strongly preferred. Experience conducting quality investigations a plus.Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and applied problem-solving skills — you dig into data and surface actionable insights. Proficiency with LIMS systems, production data, and Microsoft Office / technical reporting tools. Excellent written and verbal communication; able to tailor messaging to different audiences. Comfortable leading trainings and presenting findings to small groups. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.
