This is not a pure individual contributor role. You will own projects end-to-end while helping guide and elevate a younger team of designers and engineers.You won't be buried in admin work. Instead, the expectation is that you bring technical confidence, direction, and presence to project teams, helping drive decisions and keep work moving.As the company continues to grow, this role has a clear path into formal people leadership and management.________________________________________Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Technical LeadershipLead HVAC and mechanical system design from concept through constructionPerform system selection, equipment sizing, load calculations, and layout developmentEnsure designs are practical, coordinated, and aligned with real-world installationProject OwnershipOwn engineering deliverables across the full project lifecycleParticipate in project meetings and represent the engineering functionSupport preconstruction with scope development, system recommendations, and pricing inputConstruction & Field IntegrationReview submittals, respond to RFIs, and support field teams during constructionMaintain design intent and help solve real-time issues in the fieldConduct site visits for coordination, troubleshooting, and design validationTeam Leadership & DevelopmentMentor and guide junior engineers and designersProvide technical oversight and review work for quality and consistencyHelp elevate the overall capability and confidence of the engineering teamCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with project managers, estimators, VDC, and field teamsAct as a key liaison with owners, architects, and trade partners________________________________________What You'll Work OnYou'll have exposure to a wide variety of projects, including:Multifamily developments (mid-rise to high-rise)Healthcare and clinical environmentsHigher education and laboratory spacesIndustrial and process piping workHospitality, restaurant, and commercial projects________________________________________What We're Looking For5–10+ years of HVAC/mechanical systems design experienceExperience leading projects and/or mentoring junior staffStrong working knowledge of commercial HVAC systemsExperience with Revit, AutoCAD, and load calculation toolsComfortable in fast-paced, design-build environmentsAbility to take ownership and operate with confidenceStrong communication skills across technical and non-technical teamsNice to HaveEIT or PE (not required)Experience across multiple sectors (healthcare, industrial, multifamily, etc.)Interested in hearing more?
