Frozen Food Supervisor
Position OverviewThe Frozen Supervisor leads the frozen department’s daily operations, ensuring product quality, strong in-stock conditions, and a clean, organized shopping environment. This role is responsible for driving sales, controlling shrink, and leading the team to execute company standards efficiently and safely.Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment OperationsOversee receiving, stocking, rotation, and inventory control of frozen productsEnsure proper storage, handling, and temperature integrity at all timesMaintain high in-stock levels while minimizing out-of-stocksKeep freezer and backroom areas organized for efficient workflowCustomer Service & SalesProvide excellent customer service and assist with product inquiriesMaintain full, faced, and visually appealing freezer casesExecute pricing, signage, and promotional displays accuratelySupport department sales through strong execution and availabilityTeam Leadership & DevelopmentTrain, coach, and supervise frozen department employeesAssign daily tasks and ensure completion and productivity standards are metProvide feedback and reinforce company policies and expectationsFoster a positive, team-oriented, and accountable work environmentMerchandising & StandardsEnsure proper product rotation (FIFO) and remove damaged or expired itemsMaintain clean, organized, and well-merchandised cases and aislesExecute planograms, seasonal sets, and display changesFood Safety & ComplianceMonitor freezer temperatures and ensure food safety complianceReport equipment issues and safety concerns immediatelyEnforce all company policies, procedures, and safety standardsOperational & Financial SupportAssist with inventory counts, ordering accuracy, and shrink controlTrack department performance including sales and labor efficiencySupport labor planning to meet productivity goalsQualificationsPrevious grocery or frozen department experience preferredStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work in a cold, fast-paced environmentBasic math and computer skillsFlexible availability including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidaysKey CompetenciesInventory Control & Product RotationAttention to DetailLeadership & Team DevelopmentTime ManagementOperational ExecutionCustomer FocusWork EnvironmentFrozen/refrigerated environment with extended cold exposureFrequent lifting, stocking, and bending (40–60 lbs)Fast-paced, physically demanding retail setting
