Plant Leader

Job DescriptionThe Plant Leader oversees the activities of the manufacturing operations through a team of supervisors and group leaders. This role ensures that we produce quality products that are delivered to the customer complete and on time. The Plant Leader consistently improves the efficiency of labor, materials, and machines through the deployment of Lean Six Sigma.ResponsibilitiesDrives all company safety policies, practices and procedures to ensure 100% complianceDeploys Lean Manufacturing techniques in the area of safety, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time deliveries, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measuresProvides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development and problem resolution in a way that supports the BlueprintMonitors operations for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followedDrives improvements in plant operations, manufacturing processes and standardized work procedures leading to productivity and efficiency gains through application of Lean ToolsOversees production supervision staff for all shiftsOversees production schedules to meet internal goals and customer expectationsEstablishes and directs plant policies and proceduresMonitors overall plant performance for production and quality standardsResponsible for operational labor metrics, improvement in the Team Improvement Process and OEE metricsFacilitates Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities throughout the plant and be the plant ambassador for quality and process excellenceFull P&L responsibility; works closely with finance & marketing to partner towards sales objectivesKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesSelf-driven, accountable, high integrity, open communicator, strong work ethicIntermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook are required, fast, and accurate data entry skillsGeneral accounting knowledge neededStrong time management skillsMust be able to handle various issues simultaneously and prioritizeStrong organizational skillsStrong communication skills both written and verbalAbility to motivate while holding people accountableMust be able to build strong teams and clearly articulate roles and responsibilitiesHave a passion for employee engagement and spend adequate time on the floorQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management8 years of management experience in a manufacturing environmentCreate a workplace culture that is consistent with Owens Corning valuesHighly effective communicator, transparent, empathetic and influentialSeasoned coach and mentor, providing growth opportunities for leaders#LM-CM1About Owens CorningOwens Corning is a branded building products leader with three complementary market-leading businesses providing roofing, insulation, and doors primarily for residential markets in North America and Europe.
