Paint Lead

Job Description Position Summary: Lead our industrial powder coat painting team by coordinating daily production schedules to produce high quality painted parts to print, within established production standards. Assist with development and maintenance of policies, processes and activities in a continuous improvement environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly to maintain positive relationships.Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings.Provide work direction, assign tasks, and monitor work progress and employee performance.Verify parts are hung properly and any requirements to mask, plug or protect areas of the part are performed per the job order and work instructions.Responsible for the quality of painted parts, assembly, and packaging, able to recognize non-conforming parts.Analyze data, determine root cause, develop implementation plans and resolve issues affecting powder coating quality and throughput.Confirm daily procedures are followed, such as start-up and shut-down processes, and chemicals are monitored and maintained per established procedures.Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and increase efficiency of department.Coordinate routine department maintenance activities, assist with trouble shooting.Monitors work assignments and communicate any concerns with lead.Maintains inventory of paints, chemicals, and supplies for paint department.Provide employee training, coaching, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.Perform additional duties as assigned.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to painting operations.Familiarity with environmental regulations related to chemical disposal and workplace safety.Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to supervisors.Proven experience working with ISO standards related to paint application in a manufacturing environmentEducation and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Manufacturing experience of 2-5 years, prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 75 pounds, occasionally maneuver through lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 75 pounds. Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers.
