Electrical Project Manager - Commercial Construction
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment specializing in healthcare and institutional work.This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with full ownership of project performance from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage field teams, maintain general contractor relationships, and drive delivery of large-scale projects on schedule and within budget. You will have strong internal support from estimating, BIM, and senior leadership — but direct accountability for outcomes rests with you.ResponsibilitiesLead commercial electrical projects through every phase from preconstruction planning through final completionManage field execution by coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal support teamsServe as the primary point of contact for general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholdersReview and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction contract documentsOversee project schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking with rigor and consistencyCollaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure scope alignment from award through mobilizationPartner with BIM teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into field executionMonitor project profitability throughout the lifecycle, proactively identify risks, and implement timely solutionsMaintain thorough, accurate project documentation and deliver clear reporting to internal leadershipRequirements5+ years of experience in commercial electrical project managementElectrical contractor background required — GC-only or residential-only experience will not be consideredExperience managing projects in the $3M-$15M+ range preferredStrong command of the full project lifecycle including scheduling, cost control, change order management, and field coordinationExperience on healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects is a strong plusAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and specificationsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar construction management tools preferredProven ability to own and execute projects end-to-end with minimal oversightBenefits$125,000-$140,000 base salary plus bonus potentialHealth insurance and benefits packageRetirement plan optionsPaid time offStrong and consistent pipeline of large, complex commercial electrical projectsCollaborative working environment with dedicated estimating and BIM support
