This position is responsible for independently analyzing Visual Basic (VB6/VB.NET) and C++ applications to extract, formalize, and document critical business rules that support agency operations, compliance, reporting, and modernization efforts.General Duties and Responsibilities:Independently analyze complex legacy Visual Basic (VB6/VB.NET) and C++ application codebases to identify and extract business rulesReverse-engineer complex conditional logic, calculations, data transformations, and workflowsTranslate technical logic into clear, structured, business-readable documentationDevelop and maintain standardized business rule inventoriesCollaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine extracted rulesIdentify inconsistencies, duplications, or gaps in business logicServe as liaison between business and technical teamsSupport modernization initiatives by separating business logic from legacy codebasesMinimum Requirements:8 years required- Strong experience with Visual Basic (VB6 and/or VB.NET) and C++4 years required- Proven ability to analyze and reverse-engineer legacy codebases3 Years Required- Experience Extracting And Documenting Business Rules3 years required- Advanced analytical and communication skills3 years required- Working knowledge of SQL and data-driven systems1 years preferred- Experience with legacy system modernization or migration projects1 years preferred- Background in business or systems analysis1 Years Preferred- Prior Experience With Education Data1 years preferred- VB and C++ certifications#DICE
