Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.About The RoleDesigns and delivers hands on mechanical training courses (1–2 weeks) that build foundational and advanced turbomachinery skills, guiding new hires through core concepts, job book exercises, and real-world inspection and assembly practices while evaluating their proficiency. Develops and continuously improves training curricula, materials, and programs to address skill gaps, enhance safety and productivity, and ensure effective onboarding and ongoing workforce upskilling.ResponsibilitiesLeading novice mechanical training coursesHelping to develop the next generation of mechanical talent within our organizationGuiding groups through the critical job book exercisesTeaching refined mechanical skills throughout the disassembly, inspection and reassembly stages of an overallVerifying an employee’s ability to apply measurement methods to real world inspection scenariosGuide new hires through basic terminology and turbomachinery overviewIdentify current and future training needs and create a curriculum to facilitate that trainingRefining and developing mechanical training materialsAdvancing the modules that have already been createdBuilding out adjacent training modules for other equipment typesDeveloping training aides for specialized tasks.Leading periodic advance mechanical upskilling training effortsSupporting aspects of new hire shop orientationSupporting occasional outage Production Supervision responsibilities/oversightSearch for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among staffResearching new training supplies and materials that can enhance Sulzer’s training procedures while providing value to employeesCommunicating with management, trainers, and team members to ensure that all training needs are metConducting technical orientation programs and arranging on-the-job training for new hires as neededResolving any specific problems and tailoring training programs as necessaryProvide documentation of employees performance during training to supervision and upper management including aptitude, attitude, and academic performance.Maintain records from all training classes.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Education, or similar related disciplines and/or a combination of training, experience, and education.5 or more years of technical training experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing settingSignificant experience creating technical training curriculums and programsAbility to plan, manage time, and multitask effectivelyAdvanced database and computer skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdvanced record-keeping skillsGood decision-making, problem-solving, collaboration and teamwork skillsLeadership and motivational skills are a plusWhat we offer you15 days of paid time off and 12 company-paid holidays401k plan with a 6% matchComprehensive health plan including medical, dental, vision, Life, short-term & long-term disabilityMotivating wellness programEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid paternal leaveGym re-imbursementNew onsite cafeteria, all meals subsidized (La Porte Service Center) Sulzer is an equal opportunity employer.
