The ideal candidate will ensure that all facilities, equipment, and rental units are properly maintained, secured, and operating efficiently while leading a team that executes consistently at a high level.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Operations (Primary Responsibility)Oversee all maintenance across the resort, including lodge, restaurant, rental center, and surrounding propertyManage and prioritize daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance projectsEnsure preventative maintenance programs are in place and consistently followedMaintain organization, cleanliness, and security of maintenance shops, tools, and equipmentEnsure all equipment, tools, and assets are properly tracked, stored, and lockedCoordinate and perform repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general carpentry, and mechanical systemsWork with outside vendors and contractors when necessaryAdventure Operations (Sports Center)Oversee daily operations of Spearfish Canyon AdventuresEnsure all rental units (UTVs, Slingshots, snowmobiles) are maintained, clean, and guest-readyManage scheduling, staffing, and daily workflow of the adventure teamEnsure proper check-in/check-out procedures and safety protocols are followedMaintain accurate tracking of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and inventoryEnsure a high level of guest experience and professionalismTeam Leadership & AccountabilityLead, train, and hold accountable the maintenance and adventure staffEstablish clear expectations and ensure tasks are completed correctly and on timeTrain staff on proper procedures, safety standards, and equipment useAddress performance issues directly and consistentlyCreate a culture of ownership, responsibility, and attention to detailOperational Standards & OversightEnsure all work is completed with attention to quality and detailIdentify issues proactively rather than reactivelyMaintain strong communication with ownership and department leadersEnsure compliance with safety standards and operational proceduresAssist in planning for seasonal operations (summer rentals, winter snowmobile season)QualificationsPrevious experience in property maintenance, mechanical work, or facilities managementExperience leading a team and managing daily operationsStrong mechanical aptitude (small engines, equipment, or vehicle maintenance preferred)Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and execute without constant supervisionComfortable working both in the field and in a leadership roleAbility to obtain Polaris Silver Certification through Polaris University via online courses.Work Environment & ExpectationsFull-time, year-round positionRequires hands-on work in all weather conditionsSeasonal fluctuations in workload (high demand during peak tourism seasons)Must be available for weekends, holidays, and occasional after-hours issuesFast-paced environment requiring adaptability and problem-solvingWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for a dependable, self-motivated leader who takes ownership of their responsibilities and follows through. This role is not suited for someone who needs constant direction—success in this position requires initiative, accountability, and the ability to execute consistently.Pay DOE. EOE. $50,000-$65,000 total compensation package.
