Job Title: Tool Crib AttendantJob DescriptionThe Tool Crib Attendant receives, stores, issues, and tracks tools, equipment, and supplies to support smooth warehouse and production operations. This role maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates with purchasing and accounting, and ensures that all items are properly labeled, stored, and distributed in a timely and organized manner.ResponsibilitiesReceive, store, and issue tools, equipment, and supplies in an organized and timely manner.Maintain accurate records of tools and equipment issued and returned, using manual logs or computer systems.Assist with inventory cycle counts and promptly inform the purchasing team of out-of-stock or low-stock items that require replenishment.Complete receiving paperwork accurately and deliver all documentation to purchasing and accounting departments.Retrieve incoming deliveries from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL, then unpack and store tools and equipment appropriately.Place items in their correct coded storage locations to ensure easy identification and retrieval.Prepare periodic inventories or maintain a perpetual inventory of tools and equipment using manual methods or computer-based systems.Prepare layouts of needed materials, parts, and equipment to support production and maintenance activities.Mark and identify tools and equipment using identification tags, stamps, or electric marking tools as needed.Distribute supplies and tools to designated employees in a timely and accurate manner.Assist the purchasing team with tasks related to ordering, tracking, and managing tools and supplies.Handle order picking, packing, and shipping tasks as needed, including domestic and international shipments.Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if qualified) to move tools, equipment, and materials safely.Use RF scanners, ERP systems, and other computer tools to support inventory control, shipping and receiving, and data entry activities.Perform general warehouse duties, including packaging, labeling, and organizing inventory to maintain a clean and efficient work area.Support shipping and receiving operations by processing shipments, verifying contents, and ensuring accurate documentation.Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and tool crib operations. Essential SkillsAbility to regularly lift up to 25 lbs., occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., and infrequently lift up to 70 lbs.Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to relate well to a variety of personality types.Self-starter mindset with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent record-keeping skills for tracking tools, equipment, and inventory.Ability to understand business needs and objectives and align daily tasks accordingly.Basic computer skills for data entry and use of inventory and shipping systems.Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including handling carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL.Ability to perform order picking, packing, and general warehouse duties.Material handling experience, including safe handling of tools and equipment.Must be at least 18 years of age. Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to drive and operate a forklift is preferred.Experience with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory and order processing.Experience with ERP systems and warehouse inventory software.Background in warehouse shipping, including domestic and international shipping.Experience with packaging, labeling, and preparing shipments.Comfort with computer-based work, including data entry and documentation.Previous experience in shipping and receiving, order picking, or general labor in a warehouse environment. The work involves regular movement, lifting, and handling of items, along with periods of computer and documentation work.
