Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analyst – Consumer Lending📍 Plano, TX | Full-time | On-site (4 days/week)About the RoleA leading financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analyst to support the development, execution, and optimisation of credit risk strategies across consumer lending portfolios.This role focuses on driving profitable growth within defined risk appetite, while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and portfolio performance management. You will play a key role in shaping credit strategy decisions using advanced analytics, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration.What You’ll DoDevelop and enhance credit risk strategies across consumer lending portfolios to balance growth and riskApply advanced quantitative and analytical techniques to identify risks, opportunities, and portfolio trendsOwn end-to-end credit strategy performance monitoring and provide actionable insights to senior leadershipDesign and execute complex financial and risk sensitivity analysesBuild and maintain analytical frameworks to support credit decisioning and portfolio optimisationPartner with cross-functional teams (Pricing, Product, Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, Operations) to implement strategiesDevelop and present risk and financial performance reporting for senior management and governance committeesConduct root cause analysis and translate findings into clear, strategic recommendationsApply industry benchmarks and external data to inform credit policy and strategySupport testing frameworks (including A/B testing) to evaluate and optimise credit strategiesEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (FCRA, Reg B, UDAAP, OCC guidelines, etc.)Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team capability buildingWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)6+ years of experience in credit risk, consumer lending, or financial risk analyticsStrong background in credit strategy development, implementation, and monitoringAdvanced proficiency in SQL, SAS, or similar analytical toolsExperience working with large, complex datasets and multi-source data environmentsStrong understanding of banking regulations and credit risk frameworksExperience with underwriting optimisation, risk-based pricing, or portfolio strategyAbility to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendationsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, including senior leadership exposureExperience designing and interpreting A/B tests or experimental frameworksPreferred ExperienceAuto lending or consumer credit portfolio experienceUse of alternative data sources (e.g. Experian, LexisNexis)Experience with risk-reward optimisation and predictive modellingExposure to credit bureau data and behavioural scoring modelsWhy This RoleThis is a high-impact opportunity to shape credit strategy at scale, directly influencing portfolio performance, risk appetite decisions, and business growth.
