CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Concentric Corporation is currently seeking a talented CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) for our client in Omaha, NE. The ideal CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) candidate will have a strong background in machining, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical documents. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, precise execution of machining tasks, and a commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities: Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines as per company standards, including those related to Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, and employee training. Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements. CNC Programming: Create, adjust, and modify CNC programs manually or using Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software. Machining Setup: Measure, mark, and confirm specification dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces, select and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on various machines, including mills, lathes, and drill presses. Machine Operation: Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut. Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions, and adjust controls as necessary. Quality Assurance: Verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools. Perform trial runs to ensure the accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data. Process Improvement: Assist in determining best practice machining methods and offer insights for cost estimating related to labor times and machining rates. Assembly: Assemble parts into complete assemblies per drawings, fit, function, and customer specifications. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, internal customers, and other team members to resolve machining or assembly issues. Tool Design: Design, produce, and implement fixtures, setup tools, or guards to safely and efficiently hold or produce material for CNC machining applications. Flexibility: Display a willingness to adapt to new learning opportunities and work in different areas or departments as needed for cross-training purposes. Quality Standards: Adhere to all applicable ISO and quality standards, written work instructions, and company policies. 5S Implementation: Support and sustain 5S program initiatives and goals as required. Environmental, Health, and Safety: Uphold the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policy. Qualifications: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with expertise in reading and interpreting technical documents. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and the ability to work with CAM software. Proficiency in using precision instruments and measuring tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work scheduled overtime based on customer demand and requirements. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
