The primary focus is building cloud-native applications using modern serverless architectures while modernizing legacy systems away from traditional VM-based approaches.Responsibilities include:Build testable software that is modular, maintainable, secure, and reliableWork effectively in teams to design and produce high-quality codeContinuously improve and advance applications used for assessments and industrial/organizational psychology researchWork with product owners to analyze and understand user needs or client requestsEnhance application security to achieve FedRAMP authorization and compliance with DoD security standards (NIST, RMF, DoD CC SRG)Drive modernization initiatives migrating legacy systems to cloud-native, serverless architectures on AWSIntegrate applications into CI/CD pipelines ensuring continuous testing, security scanning, and automated deploymentsLead small development teams when projects require technical leadership and architecture guidanceParticipate in robust code reviews, ensuring code standards and conventions are metProvide technical leadership by recommending improvements in cloud architecture, engineering best practices, and code conventionsTroubleshoot issues and effectively communicate updates and resolution plansMentor team members on software development best practices and emerging technologiesPosition Requirements:US Citizen with ability to obtain T3 Public Trust clearanceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience in enterprise software developmentStrong proficiency in C# .NET Core for backend development as well as experience with .NET FrameworkExperience with HTML/CSS for responsive web designExperience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and other managed services (Experience with other cloud services will be considered)Experience with SQL database design and optimizationExperience with Git version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Code Commit)Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipeline integrationStrong team player with excellent collaboration skills in matrix organizational structuresExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Terraform/Terragrunt for Infrastructure as Code deploymentsAdvanced AWS services knowledge including API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and EKS/FargateContainer orchestration experience and microservices architecture patternsCloud security best practices and compliance framework experienceEntity Framework Core experience with MS SQL & PostgreSQLExperience with DoD contracts and federal security compliance standardsUnderstanding of multiple data storage solutions and patternsKnowledge of performance optimization and scalability patternsExperience with automated testing frameworks and practicesWhy apply to this position at Elder Research?Competitive Salary and BenefitsImportant Work / Make a Differencesupporting U.S. national security leveraging arguably the most important technology of our time.Job Stability : Elder Research is not a typical government contractor, we hire you for a career not just a contract.People-Focused Culture:we prioritize work-life-balance and provide a supportive, positive, and collaborative work environment as well as opportunities for professional growth and advancement.Elder Research is a fast growing consulting firm specializing in predictive analytics.
