NP Nurse Practitioner

Job Description Position SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive care in a fast-paced primary and urgent care setting. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and chronic conditions, while ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform focused and comprehensive patient assessments for acute and chronic conditionsDiagnose and treat common urgent care conditions (e.g., infections, minor injuries, respiratory illnesses, lacerations)Manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthmaOrder and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs)Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state guidelinesPerform procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, incision and drainageProvide preventive care, including physicals, screenings, and immunizationsEducate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up careCollaborate with supervising physicians and clinical staffMaintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EHR)Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and regulatory standardsQualificationsMaster's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practiceBoard certification (Family Nurse Practitioner preferred – FNP-C or FNP-BC)Active DEA licenseBLS certification (ACLS preferred)Minimum 2-3 years of experience in urgent care, emergency, or primary care preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong clinical decision-making in a fast-paced environmentAbility to manage high patient volume efficientlyProficiency in minor procedures and urgent care skillsExcellent bedside manner and communication skillsTeam-oriented with the ability to work independentlyExperience with EHR systemsWork EnvironmentFast-paced urgent care and primary care clinicRequires flexibility with evenings, weekends, and some holidaysHigh patient volume with a mix of scheduled and walk-in visitsPreferred QualificationsExperience in urgent care or emergency medicineComfortable treating patients across the lifespan (pediatrics to geriatrics)Experience with occupational health, DOT physicals, or workers' compensation Compensation & Benefits (Optional Section)Competitive salary + productivity bonusesPaid time off (PTO) and holidaysMalpractice insurance
