Position ProfileThis position is primarily responsible for receiving and processing inbound freight documents and entering shipment details into Operating Software (TruckMate). This position ensures freight bill entry is accurate for the movement, compliance, and invoicing of freight. This position may also perform a variety of routine to moderately difficult detail oriented clerical duties in support of facility operations.Essential DutiesOperate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and proceduresCreate bill of lading and barcode labels from inspection of inbound freight documents for appropriate shipper, consignee, billing party, commodity description, hazmat description, shipment reference numbers, piece count, weights and dimensionsWork with management to increase the efficiencies and accuracy of the receiving and data entry processesIdentify Logistics pre-books, customer special needs, determine shipment method based on destination, and prioritize based on contract, reference numbers or email communicationsSchedule receiving appointments for inbound freight via email or by phoneCommunicates with employees in various departments as well as customers to resolve freight issues, missing freight, hazmat documentation, and other discrepanciesVerify documentation is signed off by driver and receiving staff.Completes final review of own work; verifies accuracy, makes changes or corrections as necessary before completing freight bill for auto or manual billingAssists with scanning/imaging receiving documentation and resolving questions/issues that arise in the imagining system (Synergize)Research and identify hazardous materials and enter them correctly in Operating Software (TruckMate) prior to shipment departure.Monitors re-consigned inbound shipments and ensures appropriate shipping labels are created and affixed to the freight.Monitors various reports to assist freight operations.Perform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of one year of experience in warehousing, dock facility, receiving, freight forwarding or transportation in an administrative role.Prior customer service experience preferredExperience with Microsoft Office Suite requiredIATA, IMDG, 49CFR knowledge and use in a professional role preferredPrior Hazardous Materials or Hazardous Waste freight experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of computers; Handheld scanning devices and computerized warehouse management system knowledge preferredProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteMust have exceptional attention to detail, perform work accurately and ability to proof own workExcellent data entry skills including speed, accuracy and thoroughnessExcellent Customer Service skills in person and on the phoneAbility to professionally serve a variety of people in a busy and fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust have the ability to work independently and as part of a teamMust be reliable and dependableTreats people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, work with integrity and ethically, uphold organizational valuesBenefitsWe're committed to taking care of you and your family, today and in the future.Here's what you can look forward to:Competitive base annual salary range: $20.50 $30.80, depending on experience and qualifications +$5.00/hr. location differentialHealth & WellnessEmployer subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family/dependents.Employer?paid life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and short?term and long-term disability coverageRetirementGenerous 401(k) plan with a 4% company matchPaid Time Off2 weeks' vacation annually7 company holidays7 days of sick leave annuallyExtras that Make a DifferenceUp to $5,250 per year in tax-free educational assistance to assist with career development and growthAnnual boot reimbursementWorking EnvironmentThis position works in a clerical warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
